Roxane Ferguson and her communications team from the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce won multiple awards in 2015
Whether you won one award or a handful, like the team from the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce did last year, you won’t want to miss the awards presentations. And if you didn’t win, come cheer on your colleagues, network over a great meal, and listen to a seasoned journalist share his insights.
Jason Levine on “Life of the Modern Journalist”
Jason Levine, the editorial page editor at The News Journal, will deliver a talk entitled: “Life of the Modern Journalist: An Ever-expanding Skill Set.” A modern journalist with his own ever-expanding skill set, Levine has been using his voice and his talents in the news business for more than 20 years. At the DPA awards banquet, he will address the challenges of working in the business of communications today and the need for an ever-expanding skill set to survive in the current climate of downsizing and constant adjustment to new modes of communication.
When named the new editorial page editor at The News Journal last November, Jason Levine’s first word was “Voice.” He said: “It is the identity of America . . . our most important right.” In that editorial he stated, “We must invest in a culture that encourages, applauds and wholeheartedly supports action toward solving a problem” and urged “Use your voice to offer ideas for solutions.”
