The purpose of Delaware Press Association is to promote and uphold the highest ideals and standards of journalism and communications, to encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences, to offer professional development opportunities, to recognize outstanding work and to coordinate the efforts of the DPA affiliate and the National Federation of Press Women.

Roxane Ferguson Receives DE Honor
Roxane Ferguson, DPA VP/Programs Director, has been named 71st Delaware Mother of the Year. Executive Director, Middletown Area Chamber, she serves her community in many ways. She founded the first Business Incubator/Collaborative Workspace in Del., generating 57 businesses and $37 million in revenue. Service to Rotary includes co-hosting a weekly radio show on community concerns and co-chairing a barrier-free Can-Do Playground initiative for children of all abilities. Honorary Commander, Dover Air Force Base airlift wing, she also volunteers with senior communities and women’s initiatives.
Other DPA members named Delaware Mother of the Year: Kay Wood Bailey in 1997 and Mary Sam Ward in 1979.

Billie Travalini, award-winning author, educator, and DPA Vice President, Programs, has received the National Federation of Press Women’s 2018 National Communicator of Achievement award, the highest honor bestowed by NFPW upon those members who have distinguished themselves within and beyond their field, as well as for service to DPA, NFPW, and to the community at large.
