SUMMARY:DPA Summer Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:\n                        \n                    \nMix\, mingle\, and enjoy a picnic with your Delaware Press Association colleagues at our annual DPA Summer Fun Day event! \nTake a chair or blanket to Bellevue State Park and join us at the band shell to stake your claim around 5:30 PM when the food trucks are on-site and ready to serve before The Vodka Moms begin their performance in the Delaware State Parks Summer Concert Series at 6:30 \nFun Food\, Bounteous Beverages \nBring a picnic basket or try one of the jazzy offerings of fresh\, local\, vegan\, or carnivore cuisine from the “Nude Food” truck.  Will you go for “Plant Handle this Cheez Burger\,” the Loaded Chili Nachos\, or the  Pizza-Dilla with Marinara Sauce? Your taste buds will be dying to try one of the many choices from this state-of-the-art restaurant-on-the-go! Carnivore\, vegan\, pescatarian\, and flexitarians all welcome! \nFor dessert\, check out these food-truck vendors: “Copperfield Kettle Corn\,” and “Mr. Sharkey’s Shaved Ice.” \nA variety of free drinks will be supplied: beer\, wine\, soft drinks\, and water. \n University of Delaware band\, “The Vodka Moms.”\nThe Band \nEnjoy the pop/rock sounds of The Vodka Moms\, a three-piece band from the University of Delaware and brothers of Phi Mu Alpha musical fraternity. They feature modern rock\, alternative rock\, and other pop artists\, and they get rave reviews. \nThis is a family-friendly event\, so don’t forget to bring the kids as well as bug spray\, hand wipes/napkins\, and something to sit on. Relax\, enjoy\, and join your friends at this year’s DPA Summer Fun Day! \nState Park Entry Fee \nOur Summer Fun Day is free\, but there will be a $4 state park entry fee for vehicles registered in Delaware; $8 for out-of-state vehicles. No entry fee for walkers or those on bicycles. Bikes can be parked and secured in the parking lot. \nConstruction Detours  \n\nI-495: take Exit 4 (Edgemoor). Turn right on Edgemoor Road\, then slight right onto Rt 3 (Marsh Road)\, then turn right on Carr Road. The park entrance will be on the right.\nI-95 Northbound: take Exit 10 (Harvey Road). Turn right on Harvey Road\, then right on Philadelphia Pike. Turn right on Silverside Road then left on Carr Road. The park entrance will be on the left.\nI-95 Southbound: take Exit 9 (Marsh Road) and turn left on Marsh Road. Turn left onto Washington Street Extension. Turn left on Philadelphia Pike left on Bellevue Parkway\, and left again on Carr Road.
