NBC 10 Delaware Bureau Chief on Discovering the Diamond State

It’s not unusual for two-time Mid-Atlantic Emmy winner Tim Furlong, Delaware Bureau Chief for NBC News 10, Philadelphia, to drive the highways and back roads of Delaware with a GoPro camera attached to the hood of his car when looking for stories. He’s been known to strap a GoPro to his head as well.

Part of the NBC 10 team that won a prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award, Furlong has covered a variety of stories for NBC, each unique in its context and in the way he goes about reporting the story. He enjoys finding interesting ways of telling stories to his viewers and will talk about covering Delaware and how he does it. In that regard, he also will touch on the challenges of keeping Delaware relevant in the greater Philly media market.

Although Furlong, also an adjunct communications professor at Widener University, will include some anecdotes about what he has learned about Delaware and about the people of the First State, he says, “I envision my talk as being a group discussion and look forward to learning as much from the audience as they might from me.” So come prepared to be part of the fun . . . and the conversation.

RSVP through the reservations link above no later than Monday, December 3, 2018
