Delaware Press Association (DPA) and the creative team at First Ascent Design are celebrating the new DPA website, recently launched with a fresh look and user-friendly navigation. The kick-off event will take place Wednesday, November 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at First Ascent Design, 2nd floor of the co-IN Loft, 605 North Market Street in Wilmington.

The event is FREE and open to the community.

The DPA website offers opportunities for members to connect with other communicators, participate in prestigious national and state communications contests, showcase their blogs and learn from top journalists about cutting-edge issues, including open government and protection of First Amendment rights.

“As an organization of communicators, Delaware Press Association is proud to have a new and improved website that matches the expectations of our members and visitors,” said Mark Fowser, DPA president. “It’s attractive, vibrant, interactive and easy to use and navigate. It will make a great first impression for DPA.”

DPA wants to get the scoop on members in real time. During the launch party, the website team invites members to join in making a DPA video of “who we are and what we do.”

“Members are welcome to stop by and tell us about themselves,” said Michele Walfred, DPA media director. “Shortly after the event, we will post the video on our new website as a collective DPA bio.”

DPA welcomes professionals from all communications disciplines. Members include 150 journalists, broadcasters, public relations specialists, graphic designers, photojournalists, educators, authors, poets and freelancers dedicated to the highest standards of excellence in communication.
